about

Tampa, Florida-based multi-talented musician Sonic Skillz showed fans in 2018 that he has what it takes to make a change in the world of music and beyond with the release of his last album, "Vibin’ Music." In 2019, he picks up on past momentum with the release of a brand new EP, "Peak Skillz, Volume 1."

Keeping it short and sweet at 3 tracks, listen as Sonic Skillz motivates listeners to reach their full potential, as he tells his story mixed with plenty of free game. Aside from deep lyrical content from the roster of emcees he’s amassed for this EP, Sonic Skillz comes through with chill production to match the smooth flows of Skyzoo, Mega Ran, and the others. When not inspiring the masses to be their very best, this crew of lyricists advises fellow rappers to be more aware of the type of music and message they are putting out, as the youth are looking towards them for guidance. Coming straight from the heart, without being preachy, condescending or judgemental, "Peak Skillz, Volume 1" enlightens, inspires and kicks knowledge, staying true to Hip Hop’s roots.

Citing Michael Jackson, Dr. Dre and former WWE composer Jim Johnston as early influences, Sonic Skillz is poised to follow in greatness’ footsteps with insane work ethic and undeniable talent. While most producers of today are in it for the money and fame over uplifting the people through music, Sonic Skillz comes through like a fresh breath of air, offering his unique take on Hip Hop, ultimately letting listeners know it’s only a matter of time before Sonic Skillz is a household name.

Track Name: Vision (ft. Skyzoo, Mr. J1S & Khakolak Boy)
If not now, then when? Probably never
How these niggas get a shot? Man, I gotta be better
Coming up I used to think you gotta be clever
Now a gimmick in tight skirts and you hotter than ever
They don't relate to the real, gotta be fake to appeal
Sell your soul? Then they'll make you a deal
It's outta control but Jesus ain't taking the wheel
What I lack in face tats, I make up in skill
Every line has a purpose, timing is perfect
Elegant flow like I'm rhyming in cursive
And pressure don't bust my pipes
I just mine till a diamond emerges
We drop jewels like Wilder drop fools
You ranked around 10, me and Zoo are top 2
Who knew you'd ever see this? Once in a lifetime
I'm trying a make a mill without losing a lifeline

It's a vision that's on lock
It's a rhythm that won't stop at all
Got the feeling I'm on top
If ya'll ain't ready to ride, We can't rock with ya
It's a vision that's on lock
It's a rhythm that won't stop at all
Got the feeling I'm on top
If ya'll ain't ready to ride, We can't rock with ya

Padlock visions from blacktop dribbling
Back block kicking where they stash spot splitting
I'm back top with it, top floor, top line
And if I'm being modest, top 4, top 5
Grew up on a trio that made me want to make this a quartet
And I ain't heard a fifth one get off yet
The perils of the visions we all catch
Funny what you could write growing up on the doorsteps
Step into a world, KRS shit, step into a world through the exit
Step into the world where the left is
Never let the world use a guest list to say where I need be
Fuck being repeats
My repeat is my catalog on a loop, call it the truth
And you relearning all that you knew, call it a truce
I just keep it involved with the stoop, honored to do
What I see is how honesty grew, calling at you, for real

It's a vision that's on lock
It's a rhythm that won't stop at all
Got the feeling I'm on top
If ya'll ain't ready to ride, We can't rock with ya
It's a vision that's on lock
It's a rhythm that won't stop at all
Got the feeling I'm on top
If ya'll ain't ready to ride, We can't rock with ya

We’re tweaking the optics by linking deposits
Different vision when you mentioned how you're needing to profit
And the means we’re willing to take sacrificial martyr
Sacrifice your own life, might not be here tomorrow
Borrowed time doesn’t register, let alone the fact that it’s catching up
Like 12 cardiac arresting a
Distorted case, now ask yourself just what sort of place
Will end you in the blink of an eye, you ain’t even caught the face
Of your killer, image couldn’t be clearer
None other than Mike Jack dogg, man in the mirror
But perception is key, might not be what you see
Beneath the surface there’s a purpose sent a message to me
And I see it so vivid, dreaming lucid
I want it I can feel it, don’t want to lose it
My hands ain’t slipping, I ain’t losing
If you thought you were winning, sorry I know it’s confusing

It's a vision that's on lock
It's a rhythm that won't stop at all
Got the feeling I'm on top
If ya'll ain't ready to ride, We can't rock with ya
It's a vision that's on lock
It's a rhythm that won't stop at all
Got the feeling I'm on top
If ya'll ain't ready to ride, We can't rock with ya
Track Name: Dreams Come True (ft. Mega Ran, Mr. J1S & Brotha CJ)
You know a dream ain't a dream til you see one through
And anything you're putting effort in can become true
Yeah, you looking up to legends, you can be one too
I'm living proof dreams come true, yeah
You know a dream ain't a dream til you see one through
And anything you're putting effort in can become true
Yeah, you looking up to legends, you can be one too
I'm living proof man, dreams come true, yeah dreams come true

From undrafted to talk of the league
Caught in between since the day I walked on the scene
Awkward indeed, feats none of y'all could believe
I hit the crap tables and I bet the farm on my dream
Long shots maybe, but if I didn't, it would drive me crazy
The top is shaky I know, cuz suckas tried to play me
Let's stop the slander, a full house but not the Tanners
The propaganda will make you wanna cock the hammer
But I strive to be peaceful, wanna ride for my people
It's easier to pass through the eye of a needle
Than a rich man to get to heaven, but lucky for me I'm broke, man and it's a blessing
It's something to see, I thought I'd be a dental hygienist
Funny how it all can change up in five minutes
I went from biggest fan to businessman
All because I learned to stick to plans, yes lord!

Most dreams I've heard turned dreams deferred
Invest in a vision and net no real return
Some get off of the ground and never leave the curb
They let it die, spend their whole lives to grieve the hurt
Heed my words, you gotta make impossible happen
I'ma do what they never thought possible rapping
Missed my mark many times, off by a fraction
But so colossal the passion in my law of attraction
That even in scenes of doubt when I scream and shout
It evened out, I always believe somehow
I find the will, ain't no weight that will grind my skill
If you doubt it, give me a shot to shine, I will
You know a hundred no's are worth one yes
In the battle royale of life, I'll be the last one left
Cuz I ain't get this far to quit this late
From this dream I just won't wake (I can't sleep)

You know a dream ain't a dream til you see one through
And anything you're putting effort in can become true
Yeah, you looking up to legends, you can be one too
I'm living proof dreams come true, yeah
You know a dream ain't a dream til you see one through
And anything you're putting effort in can become true
Yeah, you looking up to legends, you can be one too
I'm living proof man, dreams come true, yeah dreams come true

Oh dreams come true? (Yeah) Oh dreams come true? (Yeah)
Take a look in the mirror, let's speak to you
When you was ten and you'd pretend
That you could do anything cuz you were the man
But then you lost a little sparkle in your eyeballs
And then you lost all your faith in your idols
But as the time flies you find a bright side
And everything comes together with the right mind
I ain't got no time to dream, I'm always awake
And everybody think that I'ma fall on my face
But I wear these bruises like they're badges, rare this dude is acting passive
Never go to shows unless it's backstage, all access
This is how I practice, this is every day
Don't let it slip away, don't let it slip away
I got my eyes downfield
Give it all I got 'til I sign that deal

You know a dream ain't a dream til you see one through
And anything you're putting effort in can become true
Yeah, you looking up to legends, you can be one too
I'm living proof dreams come true, yeah
You know a dream ain't a dream til you see one through
And anything you're putting effort in can become true
Yeah, you looking up to legends, you can be one too
I'm living proof man, dreams come true, yeah dreams come true
Track Name: Change the World (ft. Noodle Noo)
You know, I've been listening to a lot of the music that's out there right now, and I don't think they realize sometimes how much of an impact their music has on the world today. So with that being said, I'm not downplaying none of your music at all, man. But I want you to realize that the youth is watching everything that you do. Please keep that in mind.

What if I told you that this world's future was in your control,
And a change in you could change the entire world as a whole?
And if you never change, the entire world's like a hole
Praying up to heaven with hell on Earth, and down we'll go
It's time we start the rising, building up our horizons
We're tired, they're dying from so much unnecessary violence
Mothers are crying, applying for jobs that deny 'em
Gas prices, they're rising, it's time we stand up and I am
A leader taking a chance, put me on the frontline
Everybody ride with me for equality one time
I feel it's now or never, we've experienced the weather
Like Katrina, now I need us to stop and live together
'Cause I don't really want to hear about any more shots, we're trying to live
Musicians and rappers, make at least one song that's positive
Not just about gettin' it in the hood but gettin' out of it
They're using us to keep our people down, y'all see how foul it is?
What time it is, they keep us in the dark, we're in prison
Let's work to end this and, for the future, aim at the system
So turn the lights on, America; let's all pay attenion
And turn the mics on, musicians - the people will listen

They're trying to turn the lights off, lights off - turn 'em back on
Get our mics out, mics out - listen to the song
I'm trying to change the world within a day
I'm trying to change the whole world today
We felt that it was over, it's time we learn to fight
We're never going nowhere unless we learn to unite
Get our mics out, mics out - listen to the song
I'm trying to change the world within a day

Sometimes I wish that Dr. Martin Luther King was still here
I wish I had more of an influence on the people that are here
I remember Mama told me, "Son, you keep your chin to the sky
Even when you cry, you keep it up - no matter what, you'll get by"
And I've been good since, stopped pointing my fingers at my brothers
My women, I love you to death, doesn't matter your color
No room to judge anybody no more, we're here for each other
No room to judge anybody no more, we're here for each other
No wonder it's been so hard, we're still fighting a war
'Cause some were raised to embrace hate, not anymore
If I want this world to be better, it starts within me
And with you, it starts within you, I'm hoping you will soon see
That this world can be the greatest place that you'd want to be
See, you and me can get through the worst if we moved as a team
Set an example for the kids, I stand here as a man
Unite the world or die trying, as hard as I can

They're trying to turn the lights off, lights off - turn 'em back on
Get our mics out, mics out - listen to the song
I'm trying to change the world within a day
I'm trying to change the whole world today
We felt that it was over, it's time we learn to fight
We're never going nowhere unless we learn to unite
Get our mics out, mics out - listen to the song
I'm trying to change the world within a day

I think that sometimes we forget how powerful music really is. As musicians, I understand a lot of us have goals and dreams to make the money and the fame. But what you write in your songs and what you display in your videos, the youth are watching. Keep in mind, they're watching. Turn your lights on.
